Karoball

Karoball is a fast top-down multiplayer football game. Pick a class, queue for 1v1 to 5v5, and play short matches where every kick counts. Between games there is a town: dress your kit in the changing room, trade with other players, and play under the lights in day night cycle.

Open test

The networking side of the game has just been rebuilt and is back in open testing. It is free, Windows only for now, android version will soon follow after some rounds of open testing on PC, and the server is in Europe. Expect rough edges, and tell us on Discord what you find.

1. Download Karoball for Windows below, unzip it anywhere and run Karoball.exe.
2. Register an account in the game and press Play.

How it plays

• Seven classes. Standard is balanced all round. Dribbler is quick and slippery. Gorilla is big, heavy and hits hard. Meteor has one enormous burst. Disruptor plants its feet and turns on a coin. Phantom is gone in a flash.
• Quick Play. Ranked or casual, 1v1 to 5v5, and you can queue for several modes at once. Every match gets its own pitch and a results screen with your Elo, gold and item rewards.
• Tournaments. Cups with knockout brackets, golden goal, prize pools, live matches you can watch from the stands, and champion titles worn under your name.
• Parties and friends. Queue together, always on the same team, and enter cups as a party.
• Quick chat. Call for the ball or praise a goal from the number keys, shown in a bubble over your head.
• Your kit. Shirts, numbers and patterns in five raritie. Keep home, away and third kits in your lockers, and trade items and gold with other players in the market hall.
• The town. A place to hang out between matches: pick-up games on nine pitches, the leaderboard on the square, and a day night cycle.

Controls

• Move: WASD or the arrow keys
• Shoot: left click, X or Space
• Sprint: right click, C or Q
• Quick chat: 1 to 4 opens a group, 1 to 4 again says a line

By default the shoot button sprints as it kicks, so every kick is a full-power shot. Prefer kick and sprint on separate buttons? Switch in Settings › Controls.
